Marie Claire launches edition in Syria

 
Marie-Claire Syria After Kuwait in October 2008, the UAE in November 2008 and Saudi Arabia in August 2009, the upscale women’s magazine Marie Claire, which originated in Paris, launched a new Arabic edition in Syria this past January. 

Marie Claire Syria, with a print run of 15 000 copies, is being published in partnership with United
Group
, part of the Saudi group Al Wataniya, a leading media groups in the Middle East.
As a reminder, Marie Claire now has 57 international editions in 35 countries and published in 18 languages.  The founding edition, French Marie Claire, boasted a total circulation of 487 182 copies in 2009 (OJD DSH 2009), up 1,4% vs. 2008, which is quite a performance in these trouble times for magazine publishers.
