Berlin-based publisher Mitte Editionen, part of Egmont Holding, is bringing French magazine brand L'Officiel Hommes to Germany in the hope that it will attract affluent and stylish men away from German GQ. Mitte Editionen also publishes the German edition of FHM (For Him Magazine) under license.
Lâle Aktay, FHM's former Fashion & Beauty editor and now Editor-in-Chief of the German edition of L'Officiel Hommes, promises to stick to the original french formula of high-quality glossy paper, inspiring features, fashion spreads and stylish photography.
The magazine is expected to be published 2x a year (F/W and S/S) and be sold for the premium price of 8 euros. It will have an initial print run of about 60 000 copies and Mitte Editionen is betting on an estimated circulation of 28 000 copies as a start, on par with the figures of the French edition, which started in 2005.
L'Officiel Hommes is also published under license in Russia, Japan, india, China, Brazil, Greece and the Netherlands.
