Germany’s WePad wants to give Apple’s iPad a run for its money!

The WePad
is the latest generation of tablet computer coming from Germany’s tech
firm Neofonie. It offers users fast
Internet connectivity, a complete world of ready-to-use applications and easy
access to books and photos, as well as magazines and newspapers from various
publishers via the company’s WeMagazine
Eco System.

A working prototype of the WePad was on display at the latest CeBit fair in Hannover, Germany
and the device is currently being aimed at the German market where Neofonie already produces a variety of
content and runs a search engine (WeMagazine
and WeFind, respectively).

Wepad_apps The WePad
and the WeMagazine Reader offer the
user a comfortable reading experience on an 11.6-inch display with 1366 x 768
pixels. In comparison, the iPad only has a 9.7-inch display with 1024 x 768
pixels. With the latest Intel processor, sophisticated multimedia content like
films and Flash animations can be displayed on the WePad, offering the user a rich Internet experience. Apple’s devices
have so far been unable to play video content using Adobe’s Air or Flash technology,
which makes up for a large amount of videos available of the web. The inclusion
of speakers also makes the WePad the
ideal medium for audiovisual communication such as Skype etc.   Download the complete facts sheet in English here.
