Canada: “Tactile Mind”, an erotic magazine for the blind, has launched

Tactilemindcoversmall A pornographic magazine for the blind has been launched – complete with explicit text and raised pictures of naked men and women. The magazine, the brainchild of Canadian photographer Lisa J. Murphy, is called Tactile Mind, and is designed to be “enjoyed” by the blind and visually impaired. It will be on sale for 225 Canadian Dollars, each issue numbered and signed by the author.

Among the 17 raised images include a naked woman in a “disco pose”, a woman with “perfect breasts” and a “male love robot”. Ms. Murphy explained that she came up with Tactile Mind to fill a gap in the market, because “there are no books of tactile pictures of nudes for blind adults”.  Indeed, although between 1970 and 1985 Playboy printed copies of its famous magazine in braille – it didn’t have any raised pictures like Tactile Mind.

Tactile-Minds_1614767c The magazine was created by  photographing sclupted and thermoformed images and there is descriptions written in Braille to elaborate on the nude photography. This “book” of erotica and nudes measures 11 inches x 11.5 inches , and is approximately 6 inches wide. It is held together by a simple spiral binding which allows the convenience of reading each diagram on a flat surface or removing pages. Self-published by Ms. Murphy, Tactile Mind can be purchased off the official website: http://www.tactilemindbook.com/
