As promised a week ago in my “first glimpse” post, here’s the follow-up note on BusinessWeek post-relaunch and…the cover of the current issue. BusinessWeek has now relaunched with a new name, design, and editorial vision under Bloomberg LP. Mayor Bloomberg, who still owns two thirds of his company’s stocks, has reportedly told people that he wants to turn BusinessWeek into the American version of The Economist. Too bad, it already exists!
Most media analysts are already saying that BusinessWeek was just a marketing acquisition to help spread the Bloomberg name to the masses (4,5 million readers of BW) outside the financial community.
