German publisher Hubert Burda Media is to launch its creative DIY style magazine Burda Style in Portugal on May 14, under license to TailorMade Media, based in Lisbon. The cover price is €4.50 and the print run and circulation is 20 000.
Besides the Portuguese edition, the website burdastyle.pt will also go live shortly after the launch. It aims to become an e-commerce portal as well as being the companion website to the magazine.
The Portuguese May issue will also be available in Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa and South America like Angola, Mozambique and Brazil. From 2011 Burda Style will be on sale as an independent magazine in Brazil.
Back in Germany, Burda Style is introducing its first Burda Kids spinoff this week. 300 000 copies will be made available from May 12 on in Germany. This special issue will also be published in other international editions of Burda Style in Italy, France, Spain, Holland, Greece, Sweden, Turkey, Russia, Poland and the Czech Republic.
Burda Style has international editions in 16 languages and is distributed in 99 markets. The German flagship edition currently circulates 148 000 copies per month and has a readership of 770 000.
