Dios mio!!! The recently released Summer issue (#5) of the Spanish edition of V Magazine is …how do you say…mucho caliente! It boasts a topless Adriana Lima shot by Italian photographer Mario Sorrenti in a suggestive posture on the cover, her nipples only hidden by the two branches of the giant V logo that appears on each issue of the magazine.
Launched in the U.S. in 1999, V Magazine is a fashion, art, and lifestyle publication focused on a young, sophisticated, and international audience of women and men who want style, stars, and stories before they’re news anywhere else. Sold for $6,50 in the U.S. , V Magazine is delivered six times a year in its trademark 10’’ X 13.375’’ large-format size. The ultra-glossy pages lend themselves to capturing each subject at its sharpest and most stunning, boldly showcasing the latest accessories, fine jewelry, and fashion without any contrived formality. The US edition is claiming an average circulation per copy of 75 000 copies.

The unlikely duo Claudia Schiffer and Karl Lagerfeld undoubtedly influenced the international fashion world throughout the 90’s. Shortly after German Vogue put her pregnant and naked Claudia Schiffer on its June cover, the venerable German picture newsweekly Stern is dedicating an entire special edition of Stern Fotografie (its 60th) to the eccentric pair. Titled “Claudia & Karl”, the latest issue of Stern’s quarterly special dedicated to photography features six ads, including one by Chanel.
And a glossy book is also scheduled for print on the occasion of their 20-year work relationship.
The 96-page special shows Claudia Schiffer playing different characters straight out of Lagerfeld’s vivid imagination. Claudia & Karl will be available in newsstands on June 8 for the hefty cover price of 18 euros.
Previous issues of Stern Fotografie have been dedicated to the works of master lensmen such as Herb Ritts, Mario Testino and Peter Lindbergh, amongst others.

In the latest issue of French Elle dedicated to cinema and coinciding with the opening of the Cannes Film Festival, I couldn’t help but notice a great Almodovar-inspired fashion feature shot by lensman Jason Schmidt. The magazine got star fashion designers and fashion wordl celebs to reenact famous scenes of Pedro Almodóvar’s most reknown films. Sonia Rykiel and her daugter Nathalie appear as the main protagonists of 1988’s “Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios” (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown in English) for instance.
The former YSL muses, Loulou de la Falaise and Betty Catroux, are also featured together with designer Bruno Frisoni in a nod to “Tacones lejanos” (High heels in English). Karl Lagarfeld and Jean-Paul Gaultier also have cameos in this six-page hommage to the Spanish director.
Have a look at the Jason Schmidt photographs: ELLE à la mode d’Almodovar.

20 years after Demi Moore did it for the cover of Vanity Fair, German model – and sometimes actress – Claudia Schiffer is now posing nude while expecting her third child for the June issue of German Vogue. Vogue Editor Christiane Arp said there were few models who have been photographed more than Claudia Schiffer, but she had never done naked and pregnant before. Designer and photographer friend Karl Lagarfeld immortalized the event while Ellen von Unwerth, Camilla Akrans, Francesco Carrozzini and Jan Welters each had their own “Claudia by Vogue” session with the model.

Also in this issue, artist Marc Quinn chats with Claudia about her life, her career, and expecting her third child with British director/producer Matthew Vaughn (“Kick Ass”, “Layer Cake”).
