Lagardère launches Belgian edition of Psychologies magazine

Psychologies magazine just launched its 12th international edition in Belgium, a small European country currently on the verge of being split in two.  This new “dual” edition will be published under license by Lagardère’s usual partner there, Edition Ventures, which already publishes local versions of Elle, Elle Decor and Art & Decoration).  There will be a French and a Flemish edition of the magazine for both communities with a print run of 35 000 copies a month each.

Since the inception of the Italian edition in 2004, Psychologies magazine has now global editions in China, Russia, Spain, Great-Britain, South Africa, Mexico, Greece, and some more.

Greece: Psychologies magazine launched Greek edition

Psychologies magazine just announced it had launched its 11th international edition in Greece despite the current economic turmoil there.  The debut issue will cover topics such as “I came up with an opportunity despite the crisis”, “5 steps towards internal strength”, as well as features on sexuality, the father figure, ecology, and the values of detox.

Psychologies, which was started under its current format in 1998 in France by Jean-Louis Servan-Schreiber, also founder of business magazine L’Expansion, after he bought from Bernard Loiseau the year before and engineered one of France’s most successful magazine turnarounds ever. Indeed, the magazine’s circulation went from 75 000 copies a month in 1998 to more than 350 000 copies, making the country’s second most profitable women’s monthly behind (Note: Marie ClaireElle is a weekly in France).
